Update on Fr. Linus

Fr. Linus was not able to travel back this week.  He has Vertigo and his doctor will not allow him to travel.  God is good!  He has sent Fr. Thomas Thomas to be with us.  Fr. Thomas has other commitments during the week in Memphis but has agreed to offer Mass for us Friday thru Sunday until Fr. Linus is able to return.  He will also hear Confessions on Saturdays at 3pm.  Please continue to pray for Fr. Linus, he is as anxious to be back here with us as we are to have him!  (Remember, Fr. Preske has Mass in Horseshoe Bend at 9am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday with Confessions each Friday after Mass.)  All Intentions for Masses that have been cancelled will be rescheduled.  Watch the bulletin, or call the Office if you want to know the date your Intention was rescheduled on.

2012 Catholic Arkansas Sharing Appeal

“Open your hearts in welcome!”  We kicked-off our 2012 CASA Appeal this weekend with a message from our Bishop that we all heard at Mass.  Your donation supports many diocesan ministries, including Religious Education, Catholic Charities, Catholic schools, retired priests, formation of deacons and seminarians, West Side Free Medical Clinic, and much more.  Please join your fellow Catholics in Arkansas in spreading the Good News!

Our parish goal this year is $18,743.55.  If you took home a pledge envelope, please return it as soon as possible, or mail it directly to Little Rock.  A CASA “Guide to Giving” was included in last weekend’s bulletin to help you decide how much you will contribute this year.  Extra copies are available in the vestibule.  Make all checks payable to CASA & include our Parish # 7215 on your check.  Many thanks & God bless you!

TV MASS FOR THE HOMEBOUND

Heart of the Nation, a nonprofit Catholic ministry, provides a weekly TV Mass on broadcast, cable, and satellite channels. Compassionate homilies, an inspirational prayer for spiritual communion during distribution of the Eucharist, and closed-captioning for the hearing impaired enable the homebound to experience the blessings of Sunday Mass. In our area the broadcast is available on Direct TV channel 305 & Dish Network channel 216, Sundays at 8:30am.  For a national channel guide, or to watch the Mass online, visit: www.HeartoftheNation.org.

Missing Potted Plants

Two potted Peace Lilies were in the back hall getting sun light along with the Poinsettias….did some one take them home by accident?  They were in greenish-blue ceramic vases.  Please return them to the back hall.  Thanks you!

If you have chosen to attend Mass elsewhere the past few weeks, we understand.  But keep in mind we still have bills to pay; please make up your missed  weekly donations.   ~  Thank you!!

Spiritual Bouquet for the Pope

Bishop Taylor is making his first “ad limina” visit to the Vatican March 14th-21st where he will meet privately with Pope Benedict XVI.  In preparation for the trip, Arkansas Catholic is gathering a list of prayers, devotional acts or good deeds being offered for the Pope’s intentions. This is commonly known as a “Spiritual Bouquet”.  A list of all of these prayers and acts for the Pope will be presented to him personally by Bishop Taylor. To participate you may send your personal prayers or spiritual offerings to: Malea Hargett, Editor, Arkansas Catholic, PO Box 7417, Little Rock , AR 72217; or mhargett@dolr.org; or post your offerings at www.arkansas-catholic.org. The deadline to accept these offerings is March 7th.

Cleaning-Out Closets or Basement?

Someone is doing some de-cluttering and leaving miscellaneous items in our Library.  We are not a re-sale shop and have no use for your unwanted items.  If you feel they have value and don’t want to throw them away, call Dean with our KC’s, 856-3229, they collect items year ‘round for their summer yard sale.
