Catholic Home Missions Collection

Our second collection this weekend, for Catholic Home Missions, supports missionary work here in the United States.  There are many places in America – Appalachia, the Deep South, the Southwest, the Rocky Mountain states – where the Catholic Church struggles just to keep parishes open and to educate their children.  Please be generous.   May God bless you!

Back to School Prayer

Lord God, Your Spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us Your ways.  Look upon our students.  Let them enjoy their learning and persevere in new discoveries.  Give them the desire to learn all things well.  Look upon our teachers.  Let them strive to share their knowledge with gentleness and patience and endeavor always to bring the truth to eager minds.  Grant to all a successful year following Jesus and giving witness to He who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.   †Amen †

Year Dedicated to Saint Paul

Pauline Quote of the Week

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?  For you have been purchased at a price.  Therefore glorify God in your body.     (1st letter to the Corinthians 6:19-20)

Oops - Did we miss anyone else??

Our apologies to Ken & Linda Harris, Lois Nunnally, Zollie & Cecilia Orosz, John & Kim Petersen, and Dave & Pat Zanone who were missed in last week's CASA Thank You.  Our purpose in publishing & posting the list is to encourage those who have not yet given to follow the good example of their fellow parishioners.  Surely everyone can afford to give some kind of a sacrificial gift/pledge.  (If you  made   a donation & your name also was NOT on the list, please let the Church Office know so we can correct the omission.)  Let us all help our new Bishop share the Good News of Jesus throughout Arkansas!  (CASA donation envelopes and CASA information brochures may be found in the Church Vestibule.)

Catholic Arkansas Sharing Appeal

UPDATE ~ So far we have donated $8,665.00 toward our goal of $10,535.00 with a total of 87 donors.  (Hopefully we can have 100!)

THANK YOU to our parishioners who have donated to CASA this year.   May God bless you!

"The argument that the government should not be involved in such a personal decision as abortion is fatally flawed.  The government got 'too involved' in abortion when it claimed (through the Supreme Court) to have the authority to deprive some human beings of their right to life.  Also, when someone's 'choice' destroys someone else's life, that choice is no longer merely a personal, private matter."

~    Fr.Frank Pavone, Priests For Life

Security Recommendations

It is wise when giving donations to the church to give in check form whenever possible.  Using Church envelopes also keeps your donation private.  If you currently do not use envelopes, call the Church Office to speak to Becky about them.

Ladies of the Altar Society

Just a reminder to keep selling your raffle tickets.  If you need more, or want to turn in your sold ones, call Isabelle Wiest, 994-2243, or Barbara Chapman, 856-2108.

Alms For The Poor

You may have noticed the box in our foyer labeled ALMS FOR THE POOR.  The money donated here helps the needy in our area that come to the office for financial help, gas, etc.  Even your loose change can make a difference.  It’s also a good way to teach our children about works of charity by suggesting they donate their pennies, nickels or dimes to help the poor.
